Summer is coming to an end

With summer making it's way out, we have been able to take in four goat shows this year. We attended the GLOM show here in Michigan and had a good time seeing old friends and making new ones. We were very proud of our little  "Critter Croft Acres Melinda",who is out of Mandee's Gem. She held first place both days in her classes.

We were able to make it to the MDGS show this summer at the Barry County Fairgrounds (Expo Center). Our new little "Critter Croft Acres Brianna"  took her place in first with Melinda right behind her!

We had a good time at the L.E.G.S show in Hart, MI at the Oceana County Fairgrounds. We only went for one day on Saturday, but WOW..we enjoyed the results.  Little Brianna, who was shown in the youngest dry doe class went on to take Reserve Grand Champion. Also shown in a buck class was Montego Bay, who took Grand and went on to win Best in Show; and Chipotle, who took his place as Reserve Grand. We were very proud of our boys. (and girls!)

The last show before our fair was the Summit City Classic in Fort Wayne, IN. The buck show proved to be a success as Chipotle took 1st in both rings. Our little Brianna placed 3rd and 5th out of 16 jr. does....we were very happy with the results. Lots of nigerians and loads of competition...just an all around fun show!

As Always, I cannot say enough about our wonderful mineral mix that originally had been custom made for our herd by Dr. Pete Drehmann, DVM/Nutritionist. Our herd has been on this mix for two years now. This is a great  mineral mix for any breed of goat. For further information or to be able to obtain this mineral, please feel free to contact him at:   pcddvm@gmail.com  on information, pricing and shipping. It is packaged in 25lb bags. For additional information on this product, we can be contacted as well.

I would like to thank Deena Sansone and Roberta Creed of Kaapio Acres for allowing us to bring in some great genetics with a handful of new does and bucks who reside with us now. We are fortunate that we have had this opportunity to purchase these fine animals out of their herd and hope to continue improving ours for years to come.  Thanks Gals!

Also, I have to thank my two daughters who have become a regular part of the goat shows. I couldn't do it without them! Thanks girls.
